Depression is a Duplicitous Bitch

By on Apr 9, 2017 in Inspiration, Lessons, Life | 0 comments

One minute you’re fine. You’ll drink a pint or so of coffee, you’ll plan out your day and everything is wonderful and perfect and dandy. The next minute? You just want to crawl in to bed and sleep. That’s the thing about depression. The bitch sneaks up on you. She’s like a jackal, hunting you in the night, waiting to pounce on your chest and crush you under her sea of doubt, but she never waits for the night anymore, she attacks all day. She’s always right behind you, and you can feel the weight of her all the time. 24/7….365 days a year. She crushes you, she robs you, she is your constant companion, as much as you wish she wasn’t. You can’t think. You can’t focus. You can’t even fucking breathe. You reach for your pills that the myriad of doctors have give you by then; the tranquilizers, the relaxants, the anti-anxiety meds and you shove and handful into your mouth with some water....

An Open Letter to Assholes on the Internet

By on Apr 8, 2017 in Lessons, Life | 0 comments

What do I want YOU to take from this? 6 things:

Never put stock into what someone who doesn’t know you

says
. They are clearly misinformed and haven’t been paying attention.

It doesn’t matter what you say, do or post, or how polarizing it is, you have people hating on you anyway — pay attention to people who like hateful comments and delete them IMMEDIATELY, and also people who don’t clap when you win.

Keep doing you. Know that when you help people, everything else takes care of itself, hateful comments

be
damned.

Don’t troll social media and be a dick. I haven’t, for years now. I’m far happier for it.

Never ever EVER trust people based on posts alone. I have seen the sweetest posters lie and I have seen the most volatile posters be the sweetest people in the world. Sometimes, you build walls not to keep people out, but to protect what’s left. The SECOND you start behaving like these people on someone else’s thread, you need to check yourself first — which I say out of love, because I have made this mistake in the past, but never again. For over 2 years I haven’t said a negative thing

on
anything anyone else has posted, yet they feel inclined to say something on mine? Must mean I’m doing something right. #weedoutthefriendgarden

Above all else, do you. It doesn’t matter if it pisses people off or offends them or makes them angry. Do YOU. You’re the only one who can. And you know what? Other people, like YOU, need to hear it. Not the watered down version, not the weak version, but the strong version. And they need to hear it so they can find their own voice. Never forget that. Be you. Be strong and get RID of people who can’t understand your vibe. You’re not for them. They aren’t for you. And that’s all okay.

Who are You Really? 5 Tips You Need to Read if You Want to Change Just About Anything

By on Apr 6, 2017 in Life | 2 comments

You don’t attract who or what you want in life, until you become who you are supposed to be.Powered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This There is a quote I read once upon a time that resonated greatly with me, “You attract what you are, not what you want to be. So, if you want to be great, be great.” For me, these last few years have been some hard fought lessons; lessons that I couldn’t have learned any other way than to live them. Does it mean I’m perfect? Hell no. Does it mean I have every facet of my life together in every single perfectly Stepford-esque way? Again…no. (I wish, though). But it does mean that I have learned how much people (myself included) can contaminate other people, environments…but most importantly, themselves. When I was afraid of success, I attracted other persons who were (whether they want to admit it or not) afraid of the same. When I was toxic, I attracted...

Dear Dad, No Thanks

By on Apr 4, 2017 in Inspiration, Lessons, Life | 0 comments

It’s been 26 years since I last saw my biological father. It’s been 26 years since I have spoken to him, and very few years in between that I have spoken of him, in depth. My father was a bad man. There is no if ands or buts about it. He was selfish, self-absorbed, narcissistic and mean. He was probably the meanest person I have ever met. No, I take that back, he WAS the meanest person I ever met. He was also charming. He was also incredibly smart. Poetic, musical, he could turn his charm on and off like a faucet. He knew business, he knew numbers; in fact, most everything I learned in my younger years about business (in its most rudimentary of forms), and how it is a dog eat dog world, I learned from that man. He was also evil. He was mean and evil and didn’t care about being either one. What he did to me, what he did to my siblings….is unforgivable. But, when I found out he was on...

When You Realize Your Neighbors are Total Assholes

By on Apr 1, 2017 in Inspiration, Lessons | 0 comments

Open curtain: lose chocolate lab. A dog I have seen before. He barks, but when you call him, he comes to you. He’s hard to take home, because he wants to GO home. He’s lost, but he’s not vicious or violent. You let it go. You let HIM go. And then? You realize that you live around a lot of self-important assholes. Exhibit A: I’m sorry but this person who left the last comment needs to take a fucking CHILL PILL…or 12. Naturally, I can’t let this go, so here is volley #2: Why are these assholes attacking some woman I don’t know? I don’t know. But it’s ridiculous…and uncalled for. Furthermore, calling people names? No. Not letting that slide. Not in my neighborhood. No sir. No ma’am. I love when people assume shit about me. I really do. It gives me the ammo to bitch slap them into oblivion. 🙂 Weeee! Voices of reason. I must...
